I have been wanting to make an oatmeal for breakfast for a while, so to celebrate my 3 weeks of raw breakfasts (i think i have mastered raw breakfasts now!!) and made an apple and cinnamon oatmeal :)

Apple and Cinnamon Oatmeal - Raw |
Recipes usually call for steel cut oats or oat groats by themselves, but i did a combination of oats and buckwheat with Chia for my oatmeal! I loved the creamy consistency with berries on top and a drizzle of maple syrup to start the day...
Ingredients (Serves 1)
1 tablespoon steel cut oats (or oat groats)
1 tablespoon Buckwheat
2 teaspoons Chia seeds
1/3 cup water
1 peeled and chopped apple
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Topping - berries and maple syrup
Method
1. The night before place oats, buckwheat and chia seeds in with the water and soak overnight
2. Place soak contents into a food processor and process until smooth

3. Add chopped apple and cinnamon until smooth once again.
4. Serve in a bowl and top with berries and maple syrup and enjoy!

You can serve with any fruit or topping you desire hence each oatmeal can be mixed up to find your tastiest breakfast. I also added 1/2 a serve of pea protein powder as i just came back from the gym, i was worried the powder would give the oatmeal a funny taste but it was delicious! And i got my post work out nutrition :)
