Jaffa Jam Smoothie’s - Green Smoothie's

I love making Green smoothies after a morning workout, their nutrients and protein have a high absorption rate compared to traditional protein smoothies but i am yet to perfect the ration of carbs to protein. But they have so many more benefits than just post-workout recovery!! So today i trialed a 'Jaffa' green smoothie with orange and cacao. The first one doesn't have a strong orange/Jaffa  flavour but the second would be better :)

Jaffa Jam Green Smoothie - Number 1

1 orange
½ apple
½ cup chopped rock-melon (optional)
Handful of spinach leaves
½ cup sliced cucumber
1 tbsp Chia seeds
2 tsp cacao powder
½ tsp spirulina
¼ cup pea protein powder (optional)
1 cup water


Preparation number 1 :)
Prepare ingredients and place in blender.
Blend for 4 x 15 second pulses until smooth. 


Ready to blend
 Serve right away with optional berries on top!

Jaffa Jam Green Smoothie Number 1
I like to keep some for later in a mason jar in the fridge as the chia seeds turn the smoothie into a denser consistency and for some reason is extra flavour-some!


Jaffa Jam Green Smoothie - Number 2

½ tsp finely grated orange rind
1 orange flesh
1 banana
Handful of spinach leaves
½ cup sliced cucumber
1 tbsp Chia seeds
1 Tbsp cacao powder
¼ cup pea protein powder (optional)
1 cup water


Prepare ingredients and place in blender. 
Blend for 4 x 15 second pulses until smooth. 
Serve right away with optional berries (or even coconut?) on top! Yum :)
