Almond Berry Oats - Raw

After a week and a half of raw breakfasts i think i found another favourite that tastes like muesli! The best part about this breakfast is it doesn't need a blender, meaning i do not have to sneak the machine into my room where i will not wake everyone in the morning!! :P

Almond-Berry Oats - Raw
I was very excited when i found some steel cut oats in the health food shop yesterday, so i soaked them in freshly made almond milk overnight with a little vanilla extract to prepare for the mornings breakfast!

I soaked 1/2 cup of raw steel cut oats in 1/2 cup of almond milk and let it sit in the refrigerator covered overnight. The next morning after a Body pump workout and some bike work i was ready for my oats!

I prepared...
1/4 cup of chopped almonds
3 dried apricots chopped
Small handful of sunflower kernels
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 Tablespoon of coconut
Small handful of blueberries
And mixed all except the blueberries into the oats!

Ready to mix
Mix it up!
To serve i topped the oat with a little more cinnamon, the blueberries and a drizzle of honey. And when i ate it, i didn't want it to end!

Alternatively you can blend the soaked oats to make an oatmeal if you like the creamier consistency, maybe even add a chopped apple? I also added 1 tablespoon of almond puree left over from the almond milk to make it creamier. You can add any fruit you like to the oats, maybe some cacao powder for the chocolate flavour, raspberries, apple, banana, orange or lemon zest what ever tickles your taste buds and you can mix it up every time! :)
